A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to non-existent email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited email messages, but this problem can be fixed using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

Setting up a catch-all email mailbox will be extremely easy if you have a Linux shared hosting with our company. You can activate this option through our advanced, albeit user-friendly Email Manager, which is an integral part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you will manage the shared web hosting account itself. You will find all the mailboxes that you have created shown in alphabetical order and next to each one there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously let you know if a certain mailbox stores all the emails associated with a certain domain or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this feature whenever you like. In case there is active email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a given domain name, you’ll get a warning note from our system. The latter will not replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each and every semi-dedicated server package that we’re offering will allow you to create a catch-all email mailbox easily even if you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to achieve that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you’ve created using your domain names in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you have already configured another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you do not need the feature any longer, you can disable it by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
